Hesscon – it’s all about safety
Hesscon (Pty) Ltd was established in 2008 in Durban with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) consulting as its core focus. Since then, we have expanded our services to offer training – including full qualifications for Occupational Health & Safety Practioners and specialised sectors such as Construction Health & Safety, Covid 19 Awareness Training and various SETA accredited training courses, computer skills and wellness courses.
These services are available country wide through our agents in Cape Town, Midrand, Bloemfontein, Port Elizabeth, East London, George and Nelspruit. Our ultimate goal is to offer national coverage with outlets in every province.
Health & Safety Compliance
We provide a full safety solution that begins with assessment audits, followed by safety system implementation and ongoing maintenance. Our solutions are tailor made to specific business requirements and budgets, to provide a win/win safety solution for our customers.
Training
We provide training of a high standard, relevant to our clients’ specific requirements. Various methodologies are used to ensure that learners are able to implement what was learned in the classroom and put it into practice in the workplace to ensure compliance to the OHS Act 85 of 1993.

We strive for substantive, customer related, efficient and cost effective training and safety solutions within the parastatal, corporate and SMME business environment. We cater to all types and sizes of business and believe that all businesses can be Health and Safety compliant. Having achieved a strong regional presence, we are working towards expanding our national footprint and in due course we intend expanding into Africa.
Sharon van den Heever
Managing Director
Sharon’s years of experience in accounting and the hospitality industry have translated into strong management and marketing skills, as well as a passion for the development of people.
These strengths have led to her election as chairperson of the KwaZulu-Natal branch of the Association for Skills Development South Africa and secretary of the Association’s Board. Sharon is also an active member of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she is the chairperson of the SMME forum and a chamber council member.
Bryan van den Heever
Operations Manager
Bryan’s experience in international safety best practice began with his exposure to Sappi Forestry safety requirements and continued with various safety positions within the Beekman Group. During this time his curiosity in, and passion for, the safety
industry grew and resulted in him undertaking a variety of different training courses, which have ensured that he has become an expert in the field.
He is currently finalising his international Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health through the British Safety Council.
Kenneth Oloo

Kenneth is an accountant, business owner and mentor. Since joining the company in 2014, he has made a substantial contribution to the company’s growth, providing an outsider perspective, which has been very valuable.
